          Good distinction between Intenet and Databasese searching.

Internet: searches using natural language, Databases: searches using Boolean logic

  • Boolean search terms: OR, AND, NOT

                    OR: broadens search by searching for similar terms.

                    AND: narrows by requiring one or more terms

                     NOT: narrows by excluding terms

  • Phrase searching
    • Narrows: Use of parenthese or quotation marks;
  • Truncation
    • Broadens: Use of question mark or asterisk, wildcard (replaces letters within a word).
