Black Lives Matter: Getting Started

Created by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi, The Black Lives Matter Movement was organized in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin's murderer, George Zimmerman. The BLM Movement is a Black-centered political and ideological movement devoted to affirming Black humanity, their contribution to society, and their resilience in the face of deadly oppression.
